About Me: The Person Behind Dove Data
I’m Dawson Dove, an IT professional with a background in cybersecurity and a passion for solving real-world technology problems.
My experience has grown beyond any single area of IT. I’ve worked across cybersecurity, networking, cloud services, Microsoft 365, infrastructure, technical support, documentation, automation, project delivery, and managed services. What I enjoy most is taking something complicated, identifying what truly matters, and turning it into a solution that is practical, secure, and dependable.
What I Do Today
I currently work for Morris Business Solutions, where I have had the opportunity to help build and grow the company’s Managed Services Provider division.
Building an MSP division has involved much more than troubleshooting computers or managing networks. It has meant helping develop the processes, standards, tools, documentation, service offerings, and team structure needed to support clients consistently.
Some of the areas I work with include:
- Cybersecurity and endpoint protection
- Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and cloud services
- Network design, firewalls, wireless systems, and VPNs
- Servers, backups, virtualization, and infrastructure
- VoIP and business communications
- Remote monitoring, automation, and documentation
- Client onboarding and technology projects
- Help desk operations and team development
I have genuinely enjoyed being part of the process of building the MSP division. It has challenged me to grow not only as a technician, but also as a leader, problem solver, project coordinator, and technology advisor.
Why I Created Dove Data
Dove Data is my personal space to document the work I’m doing, share what I’m learning, and build useful resources for others in the IT community.
The site will include:

- Cybersecurity and infrastructure content
- Scripts, checklists, templates, and tools
- Technical guides and documentation
- Professional projects and case studies
- Lessons learned while working in managed IT services
Some posts will be detailed technical walkthroughs. Others may focus on the thought process behind solving a problem, selecting a technology, improving a process, or leading an IT team.
My Approach to Technology
I believe good technology should reduce confusion rather than create more of it.
A solution is not truly successful just because it works once. It should also be secure, supportable, documented, understandable, and appropriate for the people who rely on it.
That philosophy is behind the Dove Data motto:

For me, that means helping create systems people can trust—systems that are protected, organized, recoverable, and designed with purpose.
What Comes Next
Dove Data will continue to grow alongside my career. As I build new labs, complete projects, explore new technologies, and learn from difficult problems, I plan to document that journey here.
